Rosebud Visitor Center

In 1999, the Barnes County Historical Society purchased the Rosebud and moved it to Valley City, ND. The Rosebud Visitor Center, designed to resemble a historic railroad depot, opened in 2004 and also houses the North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame. The building incorporates salvaged pieces from the Northern Pacific Freight Depot, and visitors can check out the restored railcar, view original artifacts, and learn about the region’s railroad and agricultural history.

The North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame was established by the 1997 North Dakota Legislature to provide a way to honor men and women who have made significant contributions to the state’s leading industry, agriculture.

 

It also showcases the history of North Dakota’s largest-produced crops, as well as the farming history and techniques of the Sheyenne River Valley.
